Irish rap song blasts Irish women, dating and drinking - just in time for Paddy's Day

Clare Cullen

A YouTube rap song called 'Irish Party' has been released by Irish rapper 'Shakey' in advance of St. Patrick's Day.

The song references 'Uisce Beatha', 'A pint of the black' and 'Póg Mo Thóin" in a true Irish rap song.

Irish women are given a particularly hard time with verses like "Lady may look like a model but getting on top will be more than a doddle."

Coupled-up ladies don't escape the cutting generalisations either with lyrics like 'You fall in the door.. She hates when you're drunk but you hate her more. You stay together through thick and thin even though her nagging gets under your skin."

Even confession gets a mention in the song, which makes fun of every aspect of Irish life and culture.

The video from officialshakeymusic has been viewed over 14,000 times since it was posted on the 9th of March.
