Greggs bakery shows how to handle a social media nightmare after offensive logo appears on Google

Greggs the baker demonstrated how to turn a PR nightmare into a positive after an offensive logo appeared on its Google profile.

The company famous for its steak bakes and sausage rolls has been flooded with messages from Twitter users after the unfortunate mishap was picked up online.

Its normal logo was replaced with a spoof image pulled in from, featuring the offensive slogan “providing s*** to scum for over 70 years".

It automatically appears on the right hand-side of Google when you type the company name into the search engine.

Thousands of people were quick to point out the error to the company’s social media team who reacted brilliantly to the unexpected busy day at the office.
