Child's toy gun fails to make it through security at Dublin Airport
A toddler's deepest fears were confirmed recently, when Dublin Airport security staff had "no choice" but to confiscate his Minion 'toy fart gun'.
The three-year-olds favourite toy was prized from his fingers on Saturday, because toy guns with a trigger mechanism are banned from all flights out of Dublin Airport.
The toddler's mother, Daire Fitzpatrick, said that the staff behaved in an 'apologetic' manner towards her child.
The toy exudes a banana like odour when fired.
A Dublin Airport spokesman said "we don't make the rules but we apply the rules consistently."
The toy is being stored safely at Dublin Airport, ready to be picked up when the family return home.
