British advertising watchdog receives over 50 complaints about new Titanic Red Bull advert
THE British advertising watchdog the ASA has received over 50 complaints about a Red Bull advert which pokes fun at the Titanic.
A Red Bull advert has angered British consumers after appearing to make light of the Titantic.
The ad sees a crate of the energy drink being lifted onto an unknown ocean liner.
However the captain stops the crate from being lifted onto the deck, saying that the ship didn’t need wings.
As the crate is lowered, it is revealed that the ship is actually the Titanic.
The decision to pull an advert is not based on the number of complaints received, but on whether it violates the advertising code.
Adverts have previously been pulled from the air after just one complaint was found to be successful.
