Water company 'SoBe' have learned the hard way that not all jokes work when written on bottle caps.

The company sells brightly coloured water which is designed to taste like fruit with no calories.

SoBe often prints little messages on the underside of their bottle caps for customers to find, like 'will you marry me' and 'that's what she said'.

Their latest joke, however, has not gone down well with customers, who have taken to Twitter to voice their outrage.

SoBe printed "Help me, stuck in SoBe factory" on the underside of their bottle caps - a reference to the classic 'help, stuck in a fortune cookie factory' joke.

However, customers didn't get the joke, and instead went online to question SoBe's working conditions for staff.

The company have apologised for 'causing concern' and said that the printed sayings are "intended to give our customers a little smile or pause for thought".

The company confirmed that they are "planning on removing" this particular print from the rotation, but added that it would "take a while for existing stock to run through the market".
