Samantha Mumba will play evil stepmother in Spar Panto Cinderella in Limerick
Singer Samantha Mumba will play Cinderella in this year's Spar Panto, Cinderella, at University Concert Hall, Limerick.
The 34-year-old shot to fame in 2000 with her debut single Gotta Tell You and has sold almost 5 million copies of her hits throughout her career.
She played a lead role in The Time Machine and Boy Eats Girl but now she's returning to her roots in panto as the evil stepmother in Cinderella.
“I’m really looking forward to taking part in this year’s Panto, and am very excited to be playing Cinderella’s Stepmother– I’ve never played a baddie before so I'll get to boss the Ugly Sisters around and have a lot of fun with this role," she said.
"I’m also delighted to be reunited with Richie Hayes whom I starred with the last time I appeared in Panto in 2011.”
Dancing With the Stars finalist and Hometown star Dayl Cronin will be joining her as Prince Charming while Haley-Jo Murphy will play Cinderella.
Rounding out the cast are Leanne Moore as the Fairy Godmother, comedian Tom O'Mahony as Dandini and Myles Breen and Richard Lynch as the Ugly Sisiters.
