Riverdance to take part in 24-hour DanceAthon in Dublin city centre tomorrow

Riverdance has returned home to Ireland to celebrate its 21st birthday.

The dance show is running at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre until 4 September, and it is hosting a 24-hour Irish DanceAthon outside the theatre from tomorrow at midday, in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF).

The schedule is as follows:


12 noon – DanceAthon begins with speeches and performance by members of the cast of Riverdance

1pm onwards: Irish Dance Schools from all over the country will Irish Dance to raise money for The Irish Hospice Foundation – public are encouraged to come down and support them and maybe even dance a few steps themselves!

Friday July 22

6am-8am – Riverdance morning workout.  The public are encouraged to join Riverdance Dancers for their morning fitness regime.

11 am – Riverdance troupe perform numbers from the show.

12 noon – final steps as Riverdancers end the DanceAthon.
