Fancy yourself as the new Al Porter? Or is your comedy more akin to Katherine Lynch? Or perhaps you have something completely new to offer the world of comedy?

Dublin's legendary comedy hot spot The Laughter Lounge is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a competition aimed at promoting new stand-up talent.

Ireland's Got Comedy Talent runs August 17th - 19th and 24th - 26th and will feature 12 up and coming acts competing for a cash prize.

It's an intense schedule with 12 comics going head to head in six battles over the course of three heats before the final.

So, four comedians will go head to head each night with one winner in all three heats.  A wild card will be chosen from the remaining 9 comedians and the final will feature the four talented finalists going head to head for three nights in a row ahead of the final on August 26th.

An audience of 1000 is expected and the winner will be chosen by a judging panel with some assistance from the audience.

The overall winner gets a cash prize and stage time throughout Laughter Lounge shows, with a view to working up to a headline spot.

Tickets are €19 when using promo code 'Talent' and can be bought via Tickets.ie or on www.laughterlounge.com  Check out the website for more information on how to enter.
