The 28-year-old from Knocklyon in Dublin will front the new show when it airs on Channel 5 next September.

VOICE presenter Eoghan McDermott has landed a top job presenting Celebrity Super Spa in the UK.

And Eoghan is thankful he's presenting rather than brandishing a tweezers or set of tongs. "No I'm not doing any of that," he told the Herald.

"Thank God, I'll just be standing there casting aspersions and judging them. I won't be participating in any of the tasks or tweezing"

The six celebrities taking part are Coronation Street's Helen Flanagan, The Only Way Is Essex's James Argent, Most Haunted's Yvette Fielding, Shameless' Jody Latham, and Celebrity chefs Rustie Lee and John Burton Race.

The quirky Dubliner has former TV3 boss Ben Frow, who now heads up Channel 5, to thank for his new gig.

"Eoghan is a fresh face for the UK audience. He's good looking, a good presenter and has a nice cheeky personality which will set really well within the show," Ben Frow, Director of Programmes at Channel 5, told the Herald.

Eoghan, who presents The Voice of Ireland alongside Kathryn Thomas, quit his XFM radio slot earlier this year to focus on his TV career. "I left XFM because I had done it for two years," he said.

"It is a great place to work with great people but I had had to turn down several pilots because of work.

"So I decided I wanted to focus on TV work and to do that I had to leave XFM. And then I got this."

Similar to TV3's Celebrity Salon, the reality show will see the six celebrities "plucking, preening and pampering members of the public" in a Liverpool beauty salon.

They will be under the watchful eye of Salon Supremo Herbert Howe with over 50 years experience in the business.

"I'm co-hosting with Laura Jackson who has done loads of stuff like Big Brother's Little Brother," he said.
