Violinist Arabella Steinbacher will open the KBC Great Music in Irish Houses festival

What do you call a person who plays the viola? A violator! Sorrrrrry! We're terribly naff and lowbrow around this office. Thankfully our favourite chamber music event, the KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Festival, is back to inject a bit of class into the proceedings.

The festival will run from June 10 to 15 and includes 12 wonderful performances by Irish and international musicians. As always, the concerts will take place in some of the most iconic venues throughout Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare including, for the first time, The National Botanic Gardens.

The festival launches at the stunning Orangery at Killruddery House with a performance by acclaimed violinist, Arabella Steinbacher, and pianist, Robert Kulek, on June 10. This year's festival will culminate in a day-long series of concerts, The Dublin Musical Saunter, performed in old Dublin on the 15th. Tickets, priced from €10 to €50, include entry to a free concert on Sunday, June 15 and are available from www.nch.ie Also visit www.greatmusicinirish houses.com for more information.
