WATCH: If you love your mammy Sky Cinema's nostalgic Christmas ad packs an emotional punch
The annual manipulation of our emotions has begun in earnest as the Christmas ads are released but we're not going to lie - we love it!
Sky Cinema's Christmas campaign kicks off with an ad that will melt even the stoniest of hearts as it charts the relationship between a mother and daughter over several Christmases from the 90s to present day.
Classic film The Sound of Music was one of the first films to be broadcast on Sky in 1989 and features in the ad as the film that mother and daughter watch together every festive season.
We see a wide-eyed four year old girl watching the film for the first time through those awkward teenage years and a year spent travelling while her mother watches at home alone.
The ad was shot on film to authentically reflect the decades and is the first of three ads to play out over the festive season.
The next focuses on the mother and daughter and a letter to Santa and the third takes audiences through the door of a themed advent calendar.
We're not able!
