RTE sports presenter Marty Morrissey made a steamy debut on afternoon TV today, as he read out passages from erotic novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey'

He was appearing on ‘Late Lunch’ on TV3 with Lucy Kennedy and stand in presenter Jim McCabe.

Recognising Marty’s status as something of a sex symbol for many Irish women, presenters the show put his charm to the test.

While he didn’t read out some of the book’s more erotic chapters, he still got temperatures rising on set.

The popular presenter clearly had fun with the skit – regularly addressing the dialogue to Lucy.

Presenter Lucy even attempted to open the top buttons of his shirt.

One of the steamier lines saw Morrissey say: “When you fall in love it is a temporary madness, it erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides.

“It’s not lying awake at night imaging he is kissing every part of your body”.

The TV3 show is continuing to grow its audience, and has been moved to an hour later for the summer.

Fronted my Lucy Kennedy and Martin King, it was the broadcaster's first foray into the live afternoon TV market.

Bosses at Ballymount are hoping the show will take advantage of the new time slot and grow its audience before the return of its RTE rival.
