X Factor drama starts early as Simon Cowell and Mel B have ‘bust-up’ ahead of auditions
SIMON Cowell and new X Factor judge Mel B have already fallen out – and the new series of the show hasn’t even started filming.
Cowell was keen to have Mel B live up to her ‘Scary Spice’ persona, however the singer refused to agreed to be ‘Mrs Nasty’, according to reports in the Sunday People.
The talent show boss was hoping that the former Spice Girl could recreate the controversy she caused on the panel during a guest stint in 2010.
However Mel B has refused, telling Cowell that she won’t become a pantomime character.
The 39-year-old has also reportedly refused to deliberately start arguments with returning judge Cheryl Cole.
It is believed producers were hoping fireworks between the two women would draw in viewers.
The talent show has seen a slump in ratings since Cowell and Cole left to join X Factor USA.
Cowell is determined to revive the show, and wants to create explosive must-see television to boost ratings.
It has also been revealed that Mel B wasn’t Cheryl Cole’s first choice to join the panel.
The Geordie wanted Australian singer Sia to take the fourth seat – however Cowell believed she wasn’t well known enough to take a seat on the show.
However Cole is said to be happy that the ‘fashion wars’ she had with Danni Minogue won’t be replicated – as the two women have such different styles.
