When sitcoms collide – Big Bang Theory and Friends’ casts unite for photo
That not-quite-fully-formed Friends reunion (Matthew Perry was absent) took place on Sunday night, and the cast was joined by a new generation of sitcom stars for a photo.
Matt Le Blanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer were joined by most of the Big Bang Theory stars, including Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki.
Big Bang star Kaley Cuoco posted the shot to her Instagram page with the caption, "Ummmm NIGHT MADE. Can't breathe #friends meets #bbt @bigbangtheory_cbs I died and went to heaven".
Friends ran from the mid 90s to mid noughties and was one of the most popular sitcoms on TV at the time. The Big Bang Theory kicked off in 2007, three years after Friends ended, and picked up the mantle of most popular sitcom.
The stars were attending an event held in honour of director James Burrows, celebrating an upcoming NBC special on his TV career.
It's the first time in a long time members of the Friends cast have been photographed together. The series wrapped after a 10 season run in 2004.
Matthew Perry was unable to attend the event as he had theatre commitments in London.
