Fans of The Chase were left shocked when The Beast punched the set and walked off the show.

Professional quizzer Mark Labbett, nicknamed The Beast, wasn't happy to lose out to his challengers on the ITV quiz show.

Accepting his defeat, The Beast congratulated his opponents but refused to hang around set.

In a dramatic move, he stood up from his seat and stormed off the stage before punching a wall.

The professional quizzers on the team like to play the part of the villain so it's assumed that this was just part of the act, and The Beast is known for being a sore loser. However, some Twitter users were left shocked at his dramatic reaction but managed to see the funny side too.

The popular ITV series is now in its seventh year and has spawned 11 versions in countries including the US, Australia and China.

In January it won a National Television Award for Best Daytime Show.

The Chase, presented by former Coronation Street star Bradley Walsh since it began in 2009, regularly gets a daily audience of over three million.
