It has been a week of upheaval for the cast of Twin Peaks as writer/director David Lynch abandoned the remake.

And now, led by Mädchen Amick (who played Shelly Johnson) has gathered videos of her fellow cast members addressing the issue, "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like....".

Some of the responses are fairly pedestrian but some are suitably off the wall.

Lynch was slated to helm the remake of the classic 90s series to screen on Showtime next year, but took to Twitter to tell fans why he was leaving.

"Dear Twitter Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on 'Twin Peaks,'" he  wrote. “After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done."

He added, "This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing.  Twin Peaks' may still be very much alive at Showtime. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently."

Original star Kyle MacLachlan had stated his interest in returing as FBI agent Dale Cooper, who was charged with investigating the murder of high school beauty queen Laura Palmer.
