If you think that working your way through the myriad choices on Netflix's interactive film Bandersnatch is complex, it's nothing compared to the hurdles writer Charlie Brooker and the creative team had to overcome to make the film.

Bandersnatch, which sits within the same universe as Brooker's Black Mirror series, stars Fionn Whitehead as a young programmer who begins to question reality as he adapts a sprawling fantasy novel into a video game.

It's set in 1984 and viewers make choices for the character on his journey, resulting in many different possible endings.  As Brooker himself says, "It's very, very Black Mirror".

Netflix has released two behind-the-scenes videos, the first of which features interviews with Brooker, producer Annabel Jones, and stars Whitehead, Will Poulter, and Asim Chaudhry.

Brooker describes the process as "very challenging", involving "working stuff out like doing a Rubik's Cube in your head". At times, he says, he had to "get up from my desk and walk around the house, holding my head."

The actors, meanwhile, speak about the difficulties they faced in remembering which versions of scenes they were doing as there were so many.

The second video looks at the journey that both Netflix and the Black Mirror team took to create the title with interviews with Brooker, Todd Yellin, David Slade and Irish editor Tony Kearns, who said it was the "biggest challenge" of his editing career to date.
