WATCH: Kirsten Wiig as ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ reveals she knows nothing about Game of Thrones on The Tonight Show
Kirsten Wiig has continued a fine tradition of turning up on The Tonight Show dressed as someone she knows nothing about. But in becoming a rather less confident Daenerys Targaryen she bravely risked the wrath of fantasy fans everywhere.
Sporting the ash blond waves and blue frock of George RR Martin’s Mother of Dragons (and with a stuffed version of one her babies perched jauntily on her shoulders), Wiig appeared flummoxed by Jimmy Fallon’s questions which she attempted to answer in a mock Cockney accent.
Failing to stifle his giggles host Jimmy Fallon led Wiig as far up the garden path as he could muster, even persuading her to sing a rendition of Dany’s so-called “hit song” called ‘Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful’, which the wide-eyed comedienne performed… despite it not existing.
Since the real Khaleesi (played by Emilia Clarke) has been holed up in Meereen for the first episodes of Series 5 of the HBO adaptation, this has been her most interesting outing in ages. A must watch.
Game of Thrones season 5 continues on Sky and HBO on Monday nights at 9pm.
