WATCH: Dancing on Ice 2018 trailer stars two animated polar bears and it's lovely
The upcoming new series of Dancing on Ice is getting a revamp but there were no hints about its new look in the first promo.
Instead it stars two polar bears who lumber onto an icy lake and struggle to keep their balance before working together to finally pull off some impressive moves.
The dialogue-free trailer (they might dance, but polar bears don't talk lads) plays out to The Impossible Dream and it couldn't be more festive if it tried.
The polar bears' movements are convincing thanks to the fact they are based on the motion capture of real figure skaters in Sweden.
"We wanted this film to be full of warmth, Christmas fuzz and most of all magic and with Kirk and the team at Goodbye Kansas, we found our magicians," said ITV Creative exec Tony Pipes.
The show has taken a four year break but will return in the New Year. Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield will be back as hosts while the judges will be Ashley Banjo, Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
