TV3's Xposé Live axed after just six months to accommodate live Seven O'Clock show
Xposé Live is set to be axed after just six months on air.
TV3's entertainment show went live in September last year as a brand new set was unveiled and Peter O'Riordan joined as a new presenter from TMZ.
However, Xpose will now return to being fully pre-recorded "in order to accommodate the Seven O'Clock show, which is fully live" say TV3.
The show will retain all four presenters - Peter O'Riordan, Glenda Gilson, Aisling O'Loughlin, and Lisa Cannon - and will still be one hour long.
XposéLive was an ambitious undertaking which sought to emulate the up-to-the-minute feel of the hugely popular US show, E! News.
The live interactive element of the show, in which viewers interacted via social media, will no longer be a part of proceedings.
As XposéLive launched in September, Debbie O’Donnell, Series Producer of Xposé, said: “Going live allows us to be even more relevant and current and bring the viewers the most up-to-date entertainment and showbiz news as well as a level of interactivity that wasn’t possible before."
The Seven O'Clock Show was previously Late Lunch Live and, speaking last month, presenter Lucy Kennedy said, "It's a better slot but it is a different audience and a harder audience because you have the soap fans - like myself.
"It is going to be an Irish version of the One Show. It will be tighter than the current show, with celebrity guests and cookery items. It will be a more mature show. I can't wait," she added.
