TV3's afternoon show Elaine has been cancelled for today.

Hosted by Elaine Crowley, it airs at 3pm on weekdays but is being shelved today so that TV3 can broadcast live storm coverage.

Programmes this morning have run as normal with ITV's This Morning airing from 10.30am to 12.30pm followed by TV3 News, The Chase, and Tipping Point.

2News Storm Special will broadcast from 3pm to 7pm at which point Emmerdale will air in its usual slot.

Following an extended One O'Clock News on RTE One, an RTE News Special also takes the place of regular programming on RTE One from 3pm until 4.45pm when Today with Maura and Daithi will begin.

It is broadcasting Joe Duffy's Liveline from RTE Radio 1 alongside RTE News updates on Ophelia.
