TV3 surprise viewers with a new family on Gogglebox Ireland
We'll meet a new family when Gogglebox Ireland returns to our screens tonight.
Fans of Gogglebox understand that the show is so much more than simply observing families watching and talking about TV. It's about people; their quirks and relationships. The families form a cross-section of modern Irish society and their candid, funny and often revealing reactions make the show relatable and enjoyable to audiences.
And this week viewers are in for a treat as TV3 introduce another new family to dissect the week's most talked-about shows, from top-rated reality shows to news and current affairs.
Martin Brady and Rory Egan from Rialto in Dublin have been friends and bridge partners for over 10 years and still play bridge together up to three times a week. Rory, from Blackrock, runs the biggest Bridge congress in Ireland. When he is not looking after dog Pedro and his pet snake, Rory also enjoys public speaking and writing.
Martin, who is a university lecturer, has a real interest in History and Literature and enjoys going to the theatre. Rory enjoys reality programmes such as Deadliest Catch, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and also likes the odd documentary. While Martin has been known to binge watch episodes of Game of Thrones, he is also a massive animation fan, especially The Simpsons and Family Guy.
Last week TV3 introduced viewers to ten households, including the 'new O'Donovan Brothers' the Tully twins from Cavan, Cabra gal pals Jamie, Lindsay, Ashley and Grainne, as well as Castleknock retirees Angela and Eileen and Liberties duo Tracie and Anita. Their analysis of the week's TV was as Irish as it gets with comments on everyone's appearance from Sharon Ni Bheolain to Cher and arguments over cups of tea.
Tonight’s episode will see the Gogglebox Ireland households comment on a range of shows such as X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Fifty Ways to Kill Your Mammy.
