Information has been scant thus far on the plot of the highly anticipated second season of True Detective, but now it seems the plot of the first episode has been leaked along with reports of the casting of porn stars.

The Hollywood Reporter quotes sources as saying that two US porn stars, Amia Miley and Peta Jensen, have been drafted in to add some authenticity to a "vast, Eyes Wide Shut-caliber orgy sequence".

The magazine also reports that Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams "were also present for filming" although it is unclear whether they feature among the mass of naked bodies.

Ironically, they were reportedly not hired for their sex work experience, rather they had signed up to the extras casting company.

The second series, it seems, takes a look at the dark balance of sex and power in California.  Creator Nic Pizzolatto recently described it as revolving around "the secret occult history of the United States transportation system" in California.

Movie Pilot has also apparently leaked the plot of the first episode.

According to their report, "The season is due to kick off with the dead body of a corrupt politician being found along the Pacific Coast Highway with satanic symbols carved into his chest.

"California Highway Patrol officers Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are assigned to the case. It turns out the victim is a known associate of Vince Vaughn's character and this dead man had a dark side involving some associations with S&M clubs - but perhaps most importantly, the man was in the middle of brokering a big deal that would solve the state's gridlock problem."

A release date for the second season has yet to be confirmed.
