Timelapse: Irish artist spends nine hours drawing stunning portrait of Game of Thrones characters Newsdesk Newsdesk

This timelapse video shows the care and attention to detail a Drogheda-based artist put into his Game of Thrones inspired portraits.

Former IADT student Shane O'Riordan (23) is a big fan of the hit HBO show and captured one of the most popular episodes these season perfectly. In the show's penultimate episode, John Snow faces off against chief villain Ramsey Bolton.

It took the Louth artist around nine hours to complete the portrait, which features Irish actors Aidan Gillen and Liam Cunningham.

"It was all done in pencil and based around Winterfell. I split it up into a few hours per night which roughly totalled about eight or nine hours to complete," he said.

"There was an area to fill in the middle of this piece so I thought as it's theme was around the Stark family reclaiming their home that their family sigil of the wolf would fit perfectly."
