Mrs Brown in all its guises is a ratings winner, but it's certainly TV marmite - those who love it adore it while those who don't, detest it.

All Round to Mrs Brown's returned to RTE and the BBC last week and the armchair critics of Gogglebox on Channel 4 gave their take on the first episode last night.

Much like the rest of the population, they were divided.

Here's what they had to say:

"No, I do not like it.  I'm sorry.  I must be the only one who don't like it." said Mary in Bristol, although her friend Marina is a fan.

The Tapper family were divided with mum saying it's "hilarious" but daughter unimpressed.  Jenny and Lee in Hull were also on opposite sides with Jenny cracking up and Lee sitting with his arms folded.

"My friend thinks it's marvellous.  She's Irish though," said Linda in Essex, adding, "He's a funny looking woman isn't he?" to which Pete replied, "That's cos he ain't one."

The Siddiqui famly commented, "You would think this humour would be dated.  We really should be more high brow than this but we're really not."

Eastenders hard man Danny Dyer was a guest on the show with Mrs Brown.

"Surely this is a bit beneath Danny Dyer," said Izzi, who's a big fan of Dyer.

"Oh poor him, he's got to pretend he thinks she's funny," said Mary in Wiltshire, later adding, "It's funny how swearing and sex jokes always trigger a laugh whether they're funny or not."

Welsh couple Dave and Shirley are massive fans with Shirley declaring, "Ive nearly wet myself havn't I?"

Izzie added, "I actually thin it's the over 45s that find Mrs Brown funny."

"It's the kind of people who go to an Elton John concert," added her friend.
