'They wanted me to gossip and talk down about people and that's not my style' - Rob Lipsett has no regrets re Love Island
Axed Love Island contestants Rob Lipsett and Shannen Reilly McGrath have insisted they have no regrets after lasting only three days on the reality show.
Fitness vlogger Rob and model Shannen where the first Irish contestants to ever appear on the reality show, but were eliminated on Sunday after failing to match up with anyone in the villa.
Rob (25) described the show as something he wanted to tick off his bucket list and is not sad to be going home so soon.
"It's fine, it was a great experience and I've got plenty to come back to, so it's honestly a win-win situation for me," he told TV3's Xpose.
Dubliner Shannen described her time on the 3e show as a "stepping stone".
"It's an amazing stepping stone no matter how long you're in there for," she said.
"I had a really good time - three days feels like a week in there so I don't regret it."
Many viewers complained at the lack of air- time Rob and Shannen were given.
Rob, from Rathgar, believes they didn't get centre stage because they didn't create as much "drama" as some of the other contestants.
"When people said to me that I didn't get enough airtime, I thought they were joking because I speak on camera for a living. I don't have over 250,000 YouTube subscribers for saying nothing," he said.
"When I watched the show back, it all clicked. You need to create drama. They wanted me to gossip and talk down about people and that's not my style."
Rob's sister, model Roz Lipsett, said she thought he was "too much of a gentleman" for the raunchy reality show and said he could now get back to business.
