Thelma's Big Irish Communion sees family fork out thousands for Snow White themed day

In tonight's episode of Thelma's Big Irish Communion we see a family fork out thousands for their daughter's big day.
Thelma Madine, who shot to fame as the dressmaker in Channel 4's Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, is turning her hand to First Holy Communions in her TV3 reality show.

The six-part series kicked off last week and saw Thelma's workshop prepare for the madness that is Irish Communion season.
In tonight's episode, Thelma travels to West Belfast to meet Kodi-Leigh McGinn.

The eight-year-old has been dreaming of a fairytale Communion day. Along with her mother Kate, Kodi-Leigh has searched high and low for a dress that's big enough to create an impact on her special day.
But she hasn't found a suitable dress. According to her mother, only a Thelma Maddine design will do.

Kate says that the family budgeted £2500 for the Communion day (including dress) but by end it will have doubled.
With a Snow White-themed reception and a giant cake designed by Roisin Mullholland in the making, it seems like this little girl will see her dreams come true.

For Thelma and her 22-member team, no detail is spared and they're prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure that the dress is the highlight of Kodi-Leigh's day. But some last-minute alterations bring about some panic.
Thelma’s Big Irish Communions is on Tuesday nights at 8pm on TV3.
