TV3 weatherman Deric Ó h'Artagáin is renowned for his dapper style but he really upped his sartorial game on Ireland AM this morning.

Decked out in a blood red suit with a face contorted by devil make up and horns he may well have terrified early morning viewers, but they appeared to appreciate the effort.

He even managed to keep his trademark quiff intact.

Deric may have been up all night having his spectacular Halloween make up applied by Carloine Geraghty of Two Faced Make-Up as he tweeted a photo of himself being sprayed red late last night.

Kim Kardashian eat your heart out - Deric's contouring is savage!

"Super effort, well done. Kids (and grown ups) here loved it!" tweeted one person while another declared, "That is proper terrifying!!!"

Another joked, "You were warned about your sunbed addiction Deric! It's gone too far."

Deric's style has previously brought him to the attention of Star Trek star William Shatern.

Earlier this year the 88-year-old legendary actorr posted a tweet to his 2million plus followers comparing Deric to Derek Zoolander, Ben Stiller's flamboyant model character from the original film.

More recently he was on the case again, tweeting, "Zoolander? Can I make a casting suggestion?  @deric_hartigan who is the Zoolander weatherman from Ireland!"

Deric replied that he was due a visit to LA.
