Strong contenders eliminated on The Voice of Ireland ahead of semi-final as public vote kicks in
Several strong contenders were voted off The Voice of Ireland on Sunday night as the public vote kicked in for the first time this series.
It was up to the public to save four singers and the coaches then had to decide which of their remaining two acts they would send home.
Belfast mum Georgina Richmond, who had impressed with every performance up to last night, failed to hit the right note with Kian with her take on Sigala's Sweet Lovin.
Also eliminated on Sunday night's show by their coaches were Emmie, Ciara and Luke.
The public voted to save Nigel from Team Una, Mateus from Team Rachel, Michael from Team Bressie and Keleda from Team Kian.
Next week's semi-final will also see the return of Emmett Daly, Michael Lawson, Jasmine Kavanagh, Laura O'Connor, and Moylan Brunnock.
Several performances failed to impress, starting with Emmie, who kicked off the show with the Pussycat Dolls' Hush Hush.
Also, Nigel's performance of Whitesnake's Here I Go Again was branded "karaoke" by Bressie although the public opted to save him.
Kian said Ciaran was "trying too hard" when he performed A-Ha's Take on Me and Kian's team member Luke Ray Lacey was also voted off when he failed to impress with One Direction's Perfect.
