Strictly Come Dancing fans are once again calling 'fix' as the judges awarded Katie Derham a place in the final over Anita Rani.

On Saturday night Katie was slammed by the judges for her dodgy footwork on her waltz and her really rather awkward and lacklustre Charleston and she found herself, with partner Anton Du Beke, languishing at the bottom of the leaderboard.

During Saturday's show the judges talked about Katie's journey on the show thus far and pointed out that she has made mistakes each and every week.

However, on Sunday Katie (performing the waltz again) and Anita (tackling a salsa with partner Gleb Savchenko) faced each other in the dance off and all the judges, apart from Craig Revel Horwood, opted to save Katie, whose waltz, they said, had much improved.

Fans have accused the judges of simply wanting Katie's dance partner Anton Du Beke in the final, for the first time in his 11 years on the show.

While many fans were happy to see Anton finally make it, they were not happy that it had to be at the expense of eliminating Anita and keeping Katie.

Some were furious enough to claim they would never watch the show again.

However, Anita was gracious in defeat.

"I reached the semi-final as somebody who has never, ever danced before and to have pushed through and worked as hard as I have, and to have done the stuff that I have done - it's been amazing!" she said.

Katie will now contest the final next Saturday alongside bookies' favourite Jay McGuinness, EastEnders star Kellie Bright and former Coronation Street actress, Georgia May Foote.
