Saturday AM sees boost in viewers thanks to new face in hot seat
Saturday AM saw a remarkable boost in viewers at the weekend, thanks to Lisa Cannon’s first slot presenting the show.
Cannon left Xpose as part of a “revamp” in August, after 10 years hosting the show, alongside Aisling O’Loughlin and Peter O’Riordan
Following her departure, it was announced that the Dublin native would take over presenting Ireland AM’s weekend slots from Anna Daly, who is due to go on maternity leave shortly.
Saturday was Cannon’s first time hosting the lifestyle show, which saw viewers increase by over six thousand.
Saturday AM holds an average of 38.7k viewers during the month of September, while last Saturday’s show saw an average of 45k viewers.
During the show, Cannon went the the Antiques Fair in the RDS with presenter Laura Woods.
Cannon recently told the Irish Independent that she is “delighted” to be leaving the Xpose team as she will no longer be “pigeonholed” as an entertainment TV presenter.
“I get to do a lot of different presentation skills on that show. I will be on my own for several hours so it’s a whole new transition so I am thrilled. Thrilled. It’s a new chapter,” she said.
Sunday's show saw a minor decrease in viewers, with an average of 36.2k tuning in at the weekend, compared to a monthly average of 37.2k.
