The 12th series of RTÉ's 'Operation Transformation' got underway last night.

This year, the programme is basing itself in the north Co Dublin town of Balbriggan, instead of RTÉ's Donnybrook studios.

TV bosses decided to move base in a bid to get the town 'moving', and encourage other towns and villages across the country to do the same.

Host Kathryn Thomas will be talking to local community leaders about the town's progress when it comes to a healthy lifestyle, with updates every week. Kathryn returns with trainer Karl Henry, dietitian Aoife Hearne, and psychologist Dr Eddie Murphy. Dr Sumi Dunne joins the panel, replacing Dr Ciara Kelly who is now presenting a show on 'Newstalk'.

This year's leaders are Pamela Swayne from Youghal, Co Cork; Cathal Gallagher from Co Donegal; Siobhan O'Brien from Clonsilla in Dublin; Jean Tierney from Bruff, Co Limerick; and Paul Murphy from Tubbercurry, Co Sligo.
