After months of speculation the new presenters of The X Factor sidekick show The Xtra Factor have been announced.

TV Presenter and KISS FM Radio DJ, Melvin Odoom, and The Saturdays star Rochelle Humes were today announced as the new faces, replacing Sarah Jane Crawford who hosted for just one series.

Rochelle started her career in S Club Juniors and most recently she has achieved multi-platinum selling status with The Saturdays and also co-hosts Ninja Warrior UK as well as regular stints on This Morning.

"I have watched ‘The Xtra Factor’ for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better," she said.

"I also can’t wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their ‘X Factor’ experience.”

Melvin has co-hosted The KISS FM breakfast show for eight years alongside Rickie Haywood Williams and has interviewed some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. He has also hosted shows across 4Music, T4, Kiss TV, MTV, BBC3 and presenting at The Brit Awards.

“I’ve always been a massive fan of the show and to get to present ‘The Xtra Factor’ is a dream for me. We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I’m really looking forward to it!” he said.

Nigel Hall, global head of television for Syco Entertainment, said: "I’ve loved getting to know Rochelle and Melvin. They are great friends, have great chemistry together and are both passionate ‘X Factor’ fans.  A perfect combination to host ‘The Xtra Factor’.”

The announcement completes the line-up for the coming series with judges finalised as Simon Cowell, Rita Ora, Cheryl Fernandez Versini and Nick Grimshaw.

Presenting the main show will be another duo - Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, who previously co-presented The Xtra Factor.

The new series kicks off on ITV and TV3 in the autumn and producers are inviting wannabes to apply by submitting an audition.

Anyone can still apply by submitting a video audition. Video auditions can be sent in via https://application.xfactor.tv/ and more information can be found at itv.com/xfactor
