Red Rock star Denise McCormack reveals her dream role: 'I'd like to play Black Widow Catherine Nevin'
Denise McCormack has revealed her dream role as an actress would be that of Black Widow Catherine Nevin.
The Red Rock star (39), who recently made the final three on RTE's Dancing With The Stars, reckons it would be a challenge to protray the 65-year-old who is serving a life sentence for organising the murder of her husband Tom in their Co. Wicklow pub.
"I'd like to play Catherine Nevin. Playing a real life person would be a real challenge," she said.
Denise lives in Bray with her children Harvey and Sydney and her partner Barry Gammell.
The couple met a decade ago in a Dublin pub after a football match and got engaged in 2015, but they are having disagreements about their upcoming wedding.
"I'm so busy and I'm not the most organised of people. I'd like a small wedding and Barry would like a big one. I just want a day to remember with my closest friends around me," she told the RTE Guide.
"My mother did say the other day, and she's not one to put pressure on, that she'd love a day out."
The Dublin woman admitted she had no idea how tough Dancing With The Stars was going to be when she agreed to be a participant.
"You couldn't really imagine how tough it was going to be," she said.
"After you do the show on Sunday there is this burst of elation but in the first few weeks I'd wake up in the foetal position on Monday morning wondering how I had done the previous night.
"I'm an actor not a dancer and DWTS is something I couldn't have when I was young."
