It seems life doesn't imitate art for Red Rock star Adam Weafer.

While he may be TV3's resident heart-throb with a tumultuous on screen love life, Adam has said that in reality things are very quiet when it comes to his own love life.

"Red Rock is the love of my life at the minute," Adam told the Diary.

"I am absolutely single and that is fine with me for now.

"I am very busy with the show at the minute, so I'm delighted to just focus on that."

The actor, who plays bad boy David Hennessy on the soap, has seen his profile soar since landing his role on the TV3 soap last year.

However, the modest Dubliner said he doesn't pay attention to whether or not he has gained female admirers since hitting TV screens.

While his mates seem to love the extra attention he gets on a night out, it's not something that Adam is letting go to his head.

"I have just been keeping my head down," he said with a laugh.

"Work has been keeping me busy."

The Cabinteely native has more strings to his bow than just acting and is a keen singer/songwriter.

He previously headed to New York for a month to play a string of gigs, but it remains a side-line passion for now.

"Music is very important to me, I have been singing since a young age so it is great to have something on the side to relieve the brain."

The 25-year-old landed his role on the soap after he saw the advertisement for the open auditions and decided to give it a shot.

While he never expected to get the part, he has since established himself and said he relishes playing David, who is currently trying to navigate life as a single dad after splitting from baby Luke's mum, Katie.

While David's complicated love life might be very different to his own, Adam said that he can identify with his character.

"I would definitely be sympathetic towards David at the end of it all," the actor said.

"He is 100pc committed to his son, Luke, and trying to get the relationship to work.

"This is a very real situation for a lot of people and I think David is a good man at heart."

It was recently revealed that Red Rock has been sold to the BBC in a deal worth over €500,000.

BBC Worldwide snapped up all 80 episodes of the popular soap, which won three Ifta's last year.
