Rachel McAdams dismisses rumours of romance with True Detective co-star Taylor Kitsch
Actress Rachel McAdams has laughed off rumours surrounding her love life.
The 36-year-old actress famously dated her The Notebook co-star Ryan Gosling on and off until 2008, before a brief romance with Josh Lucas and an almost-three-year relationship with Michael Sheen until 2013.
She was linked to her Southpaw co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, and most recently reports are swirling around her status with fellow True Detective star Taylor Kitsch. Though she didn't deny the claims, Rachel was happy to share her bemusement at the rumours.
“[It’s the] weird, weird, bizarre, surreal side of it but I guess you just have to laugh at it at a certain point,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
"[Taylor and I have been friends] for years. I’m like, ‘Who are these people?’ How did they confirm that? I find it really confusing, but yeah, it’s an odd little thing.”
Taylor recently opened up about dating in the spotlight as well, telling Elle magazine last month that it's difficult to build a relationship with a woman when he's so busy with work.
He and Rachel join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the second series of True Detective, which boasted Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as the leads in the first season.
"We had a little bit of a safety net in that it’s completely different characters and a totally different story. I think [creator] Nic [Pizzolatto] is doing something unique again with this season [being] different from the last,” Rachel added to ET.
“Of course, there’s going to be comparisons and of course, you want it to be just as good but I think it’s a different beast this year. I appreciate that because if you hold on tight to the old format, you don’t grow and it doesn’t get to breathe. I admire that he took another leap this year."
