'Our Tara' - Irish Blind Date's 'Our Graham' voiceover will be Tara Flynn
Tara Flynn has been revealed as the person providing the voiceover for TV3's reboot of Blind Date.
The comedian and actor will fill the role made famous by Graham Sidmore in the classic 80s original which was presented by the late Cilla Black.
Black referred to him as 'Our Graham' and it looks like Al Porter will do the same with 'Our Tara' on the TV3 show which will hit the small screen in the autumn.
The Cork star's new role will see her offering humorous recaps on the singleton contestants and what they said.
“I am so delighted about being the famous sidekick in Blind Date, I have very fond memories of my Saturday nights in front of the TV watching the legendary Cilla having a lorra lorra laughs! Myself and Al Porter are going to have so much fun on such an iconic show” she said.
Tara has worked in theatre, radio, TV and as a stand up comedian across the Ireland and UK and is a founding member of The Nualas comedy trio.
She will be familiar to viewers of TV shows including Irish Pictorial Weekly, Moone Boy, The Mario Rosenstock Show and Line of Duty on the BBC.
Most recently she wrote and performed her one woman show Not A Funny Word to sell-out crowds at the Abbey Theatre’s Peacock space.
Filming of the show kicked off today after a search for applicants of all ages, persuasions and walks of life.
Producers initially had more women apply than men but a lot of guys applied at the last minute. This series will feature LGBT contestants for the first time.
