One of the stars of hit show Friends found out at the reunion that they were the only one of the six who had to audition twice to land their role.

The awkward moment features in a new clip released from the upcoming reunion which was filmed as part of a tribute to showrunner James Burrows.

Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc came together for the show while Matthew Perry missed out as he was on stage in London.

During the course of the interview, Kudrow learned that she had been the only cast member who had to audition twice.

"I had to come in and audition for Jimmy" she revealed, although the others did not have to do the same thing.

Lisa did not seem perturbed however and thanked Burrows for casting her.

The tribute to Burrows airs on NBC at 9pm on February 21.
