‘Nobody’s heard of her’ blast at model Nadia Forde after Hollyoaks star’s passed over for spot in the jungle
Soap star Gemma Merna is said to be fuming after she was replaced on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! by Dublin model Nadia Forde.
The Hollyoaks star was all set to enter the jungle but was replaced last minute by the model turned singer.
Gemma had wrapped her final episode as Carmel McQueen on the popular Channel 4 series, with her final episode airing this week.
“Gemma is fuming. Everything was set for the jungle – she had been in talks for so long, she was so excited to head to Australia,” a source at ITV revealed.
“Then all of a sudden this Irish girl replaced her. No one knows who she is in the UK and Gemma is confused by it all.”
It has also been revealed that Nadia (25) was on a separate list of stars lined up for the show when she was originally contacted by producers.
“Nadia was on a list of people to go into the jungle but she wasn’t in the original line-up,” the source continued.
“There were changes ahead of the show and Nadia replacing Gemma was one of those changes.”
Nadia is set to enter the jungle this Sunday, after her rumoured fling with Rory McIlroy made the UK papers in September.
The model had been linked to the golf star after he ended his relationship to Caroline Wozniacki but it later emerged he was spotted in the company of Belfast model Sasha Gale. However, Nadia has insisted that she won’t be speaking about Rory – and even had it written into her contract.
Nadia has previously dated rugby hunk Luke Fitzgerald, but things ended badly when he dumped the brunette in 2012.
She was also previously in a relationship with DJ Mark Noble from FM 104. But the brunette beauty has revealed that she would be up for a romance in the Australian jungle.
“I am single. Will I find love in the jungle? I am not going in looking for it – but I am not against it either,” she admitted.
Nadia will be joined in the jungle by The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins, presenter Melanie Sykes and Tinchy Stryder.
The other contestants are BBC newsreader Michael Buerk, the most successful World Superbike racer of all time Carl Fogarty and ’Allo ’Allo actress Vicki Michelle.
Coronation Street star Craig Charles and former footballer Jimmy Bullard will also feature, and Nadia will face competition in the sex-pot stakes from former Playboy model and ex-girlfriend of Hugh Heffner Kendra Wilkinson.
