Nadia Forde's mum cheers her on in the 'I'm a Celebrity' jungle
THIS is the proud mum who is jungle babe Nadia Forde’s number one fan as she tackles creepy crawlies down under – even though they were estranged for years.
This heartwarming family album pic shows Berenice Paolozzi posing proudly with little Nadia at Christmas.
The pair later had a falling out and didn’t speak for years. However, after healing the rift as she battled cancer, Berenice is supporting her model daughter as she competes in 'I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here'.
Berenice is tuning in despite the fact she is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma cancer.
“That strong-minded, Irish-Italian blood will kick in for every challenge she is given,” Berenice said last night.
“Come on, vote yes!!! First Irish woman to go into the jungle!”
The model was raised by her grandmother Bernie from the age of seven, after Berenice and Nadia’s dad, Stephen Forde, split up.
It was only during the summer that Nadia finally reconciled with her mother after learning she was getting treatment in London for cancer.
Heartbroken Nadia jetted straight to London, where her mum lives, to be by her side.
She said: “I thought we were going to have a mother and daughter connection, everything would finally be okay.
“There is only one thing that is certain in life – death faces us all in the end, and when that comes all of the other worries and difficulties are not important anymore. It put everything into perspective, just how fragile and how precious life is.”
Berenice, who works in radio and is a former events director, is now getting treatment in Dublin and getting back on her feet.
Nadia has vowed to replace Myleene Klass as the all-time I’m A Celebrity pin-up girl. Myleene became a reality TV icon with her famous waterfall bikini picture.
Dublin model Nadia went into the Australian outback with a bag packed with skimpy bikinis, and has told pals “sexy” is her middle name.
The buxom babe has admitted that although she strips down to her undies on a weekly basis, it took some interesting advice from a photographer for her to find her sexiness.
“I did a photoshoot with FHM. The photographer was like, ‘it’s Sunday morning, you’ve just had amazing sex with your boyfriend, you’re now relaxing in your underwear having coffee and it’s all very chilled’,” she explains.
“You have to get in that mindset. I’m the same as any girl and of course there are bits of my body I’m not comfortable with, but it’s a performance.”
Meanwhile, anyone expecting Nadia to spill the beans on her ‘relationship’ with golf ace Rory McIlroy will be disappointed.
Lucky for McIlroy, Nadia has vowed not to discuss her dalliance with the world’s best golfer.
She insisted that programme-makers write a clause into her contract that she wouldn’t be asked to speak about the relationship before she signed on the dotted line for a reputed £50,000 (€62,500) – but that doesn’t mean that the men in camp can rest easy.
“I am single. Will I find love in the jungle? I am not against it, I just want to have lots of fun when I am out there,” she said.
There are slim pickings for Nadia on the potential Tarzan front, though, as she will be joined in the jungle by only five males – actor Craig Charles (50), footballer Jimmy Bullard (36), biker Carl Fogarty (49), newsreader Michael Burke (68) and rapper Tinchy Stryder (28).
Joining her in the female brigade are The Only Way Is Essex sensation Gemma Collins (33), TV presenter Melanie Sykes (44), Girls Next Door reality star Kendra Wilkinson (29) and actress Vicki Michelle (63).
