It has been a tough few days for TV3 with Midday and now Ireland AM falling foul of 'technical difficulties' - and viewers were a little confused.

Last week Midday had to be cancelled following problems with the cameras in the studio.

The official Midday twitter confirmed the show would not be broadcast, tweeting:

“Sorry Folks - due to technical difficulties, Midday won't be on air today. Apologies. Never fear we'll see you on Monday. Have a great wkend.”

Also expressing her disappointment was presenter Elaine Crowley, who shared a photo of the team ready for the show. Make-up and all.

She said: “All dressed up and nowhere to chat!”

Today's issues were addressed on Twitter too by both the TV3 and Ireland AM official accounts.

TV3's Sharon McHugh has revealed the issues are due to two completely different problems.  Midday was a camera problem while today's issue was a "massive power outage in the Ballymount area this morning which in turn affected transmission".

The programme did manage to get back up and running, but not before viewers had their say...
