Dubliner Ray Adamson, whose weight loss journey is the subject of TV3 series 'Saving Ray' faces a serious setback this week as he puts weight back on.

It's the third episode of the four-part series, Ray suffers an unfortunate knee injury which renders the morbidly obese 31-year-old incapable of working out.

Ray, who originally weighed 29 stone, is on a 12-week journey to change his life around before his wedding day and his goal is to lose three stone before the Big Day, and ten stone overall.

Whilst his fiancee Tracey is away on her hen weekend, Ray injures his knee, upsetting his training schedule and his plans to spend quality time with his two sons.

Despite a few hectic weeks of training, Ray is devastated to discover he has put on weight, and he seriously considers quitting his training plan, diet, and the show.

“I’m in a pickle here because I don’t know what to be doing any more, do you know what I mean? Me head’s just mixed up at the moment. I’m all over the place," he says.

“The last week has been nothing but hell, hell on earth for me!”

‘Saving Ray’ episode 3 airs Monday 29th September at 8pm on TV3.
