Meet TG4 host Áine Goggins - whose presenting job is funding her medical degree
One of TG4's new faces, bilingual beauty Áine Goggins, has it all.
The rising star is set to present a new dating show on the Irish language channel, in her down time while studying for her medicine degree.
The up and comer is in her final year of study at Queen's University in Belfast.
The 29-year-old told the Irish Daily Mail that balancing the books with broadcasting keeps her motivated to succeed.
"I obviously work in TV but I do have both sides going. It’s nice to have the two – it keeps you grounded," she said.
"I don’t know fully what I want to do yet, but I definitely want to work in a hospital and not as a GP.
"Unless you make a big break in TV and you’re huge, you just need to see what happens. And maybe some day down the line it could be easy to have a bit of both going on," she mused.
However the Dublin native admits she hasn't been looking into pursing presenting as her main career.
Áine is gearing up to present 'Pioc Do Ride' - a concept that blends the iconic Blind Date format with MTV's Pimp My Ride.
"A person has to choose between three potential dates based on their cars and what’s in them. The twist is, the person who gets picked to go on the date can accept the date… or a voucher to get their car fixed.’ Áine says of the show: ‘It’s fun and I’m looking forward to it getting going."
The 13 episode series will premiere on screens on September 24.
