RUMOURS are swirling in Hollywood that Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has been axed from the show after more than a decade at the helm.

TV network ABC have not confirmed the change, however it is believed he has not been on set in several weeks.

A show source told US weekly that the actor had been suspended, after acting like ‘a diva’ on set.

"Patrick has been acting like a diva and has clashed with Shonda. She suspended him for a while, and the word on set is that he isn’t coming back full time," a source told the paper.

"Given all the past problems with Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington, there is little tolerance on the show for troublesome talent."

However the actor’s spokesperson denied the report.

The show has been no stranger to controversy during its run - it survived the controversial exits of stars T.R Knight, Katherine Heigl and Isaiah Washington over its decade-long run.
