As if last night's two-hander which rendered Paul unconscious wasn't enough, tonight's Fair City is set to ramp up the drama even higher.

Paul's whack on the head courtesy of Niamh ultimately results in a fire at the garage which threatens Orla's life.

Picking up where last night's episode left off, we see Paul lying unconscious at home as a panicked Niamh flees with Ruth in tow.

She runs across to the Hungry Pig and leaves Ruth with Cass while she heads to the garage to pick up her car.  However, it's not ready so Doug promises to have it ready for her to pick up in the afternoon.

Meanwhile Paul regains consciousness at home and cleans himself up before setting out to find Niamh and Ruth.

Niamh asks Carol to help her but Robbie refuses to get involved.

When Niamh arrives back at the garage to collect her car, Paul has already made his way there and he grabs a wrench and attacks the car as she struggles to start the ignition.

When she finally gets the engine running she crashes into the shutters of the closed garage, unaware that Orla is inside.

Orla is knocked off a ladder and pulls a shelving unit on top of herself and knocking over the petrol bucket and heater on her way.  The garage ignites into flames.

Niamh and Paul leave the scene, thinking they've had a lucky escape but inside Orla struggles to free herself from under the shelves as the flames rage around her.

Of the dramatic scenes, Sorcha Furlong, who plays Orla, said, "Orla has had her fair share of drama over the years but this has to be one of the most exciting and daunting episodes I've worked on.

"There were so many people involved on the day from special effects experts, stunt doubles not to mention the cast and crew.

"There was a great buzz on set during filming and everyone brought their A game to make sure everything went to plan.   It was great to be part of such a bit stunt.  Hopefully everyone at home will enjoy watching it."
