Love/Hate star Tom Vaughan Lawlor to return to RTE for drama doc Citizen Lane
Tom Vaughan Lawlor will be making a return from the big to the small screen with a role in new RTE drama documentary Citizen Lane.
The Dublin actor, who rose to fame as gangster Nidge in RTE series Love/Hate, will play Hugh Lane in the feature doc about the life and times of the art dealer and philanthropist.
He will be starring opposite Derbhle Crotty as Lady Gregory and Marty Rhea as William Orpen and the film will include interviews with contributors.
It follows Lane's battle to establish the world's first public modern art gallery, his untimely death on the Lusitania, and his contested will.
The story continues to the present day and the long-running campaign to recover for Ireland Lane's bequest of 39 paintings, including works buy Monet, Renoir, and Manet.
Citizen Lane is directed by Thaddeaus O'Sullivan and written by Mark O'Halloran and will air on RTE next year.
Vaughan Lawlor is currently in Dublin to promote his current movie, Irish film Maze, in which he stars opposite fellow Irish actor Barry Ward.
Earlier this year he also filmed scenes for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War but has remained tight-lipped about his role.
