Viewers are in for a shock tonight when Robbie - the husband of Fair City's feisty Carol Foley - finally gives in to temptation with his ex, Aoife.

Sparks have been flying between the former couple in recent weeks, but they take things a step further in tonight's episode.

Last night saw Robbie's old pal Dan's funeral take place, and he was persuaded to go to the service to support wife Carol, who was alarmed when her husband got up to give a eulogy.

The day after the funeral, he decides to open up to Aoife about his feelings for her, and desire gets the better of them.

They end up sharing a steamy kiss which leads to other things and they eventually sleep together in the Station Bar office.

But passion soon turns to panic after Robbie realises he has two missed calls from his wife.

Clearly suspicious that all is not well, Carol sends a text to say she's on the way over and the pair have to scramble to get dressed and cover their tracks.

Later on, a flustered Robbie manages to convince Carol that everything is fine between them as he tries to hide his misdemeanour.

Elsewhere in Carrigstown, tonight's episode sees Debbie try to cover her real agenda by avoiding Eoghan and Katy.

Emmet feels the pressure to accept McSweeney's deal when he sees how desperate Debbie is.

Meanwhile, Laura realises that Damien is not coping with recent events and offers to move in with him after becoming concerned about his behaviour.

He is left stunned when Tommy says Laura knew Caoimhe was sneaking away and she is terrified when he unleashes his anger on her.

As the fallout from the siege continues, Kevin is worried as Karen's anger becomes worse as she comes to terms with everything that has happened.

He gets an inkling that there is more to her upset than losing Dan.

However, when confronted by Cristiano, she refuses to admit to him just how much she has been struggling as she suggests that all was not what it seemed when it came to the late Dan.

Carrigstown is still struggling to process the recent siege at the hands of the evil Dr Marcus Oakley.
