Jessica Shears broke down as she watched her Love Island love interest Dom Lever finding out about rumours she slept with Mike Thalassitis after they were both booted out of the villa last week.

Dom and Jess had been a power couple in the villa but Jess was voted off after some tactical voting by the boys, while the girls opted to ditch newcomer Mike.

Both Mike and Jess had flirted on a date on his arrival but he opted to couple up with Liv instead and Jess stuck with Dom.

However, after Jess posted images of her and Mike posing together at the airport, rumours began circulating that they had hooked up.

She denied this on social media, tweeting to her fans "not to believe everything you read" while Mike has also denied any romance.

Speaking on sisters show Aftersun, he said they had one drink and had separate rooms and were never alone together.

"I've got my arm around her [in her Insta pic] because she was sad, we'd just been voted out, it was sad.

"We didn't have a drink, well, we had one drink, but we didn't get drunk.

"We had separate rooms. I didn't go to her room, but I thought about it."

Watching Sunday night's episode, in which Gabby and Marcel broke the news of the rumours to Dom, she was distraught.

"It's making me so angry," she said. "I can't tell the person, the only person I care about, the truth, because he's stuck in the villa."

Gabby found out about the rumours during a Skype conversation with her mum while Marcel's former Blazin Squad bandmates revealed the news to him.

Dom stormed out of the villa in a rage when he found out.

"I know it was real, I was true to her and I thought it was special," he told Marcel.  "If she's done what she's done it clearly wasn't as special to her."

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm and 3e at 9pm.
