Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella are set to appear in their own TV show.
Daniel (53) won’t be doing any more concerts until August next year, but he has plenty planned to keep him occupied until then.
“I’m going to do something for TG4 and another series with Majella, touring Ireland and staying in B&Bs,” he told the Herald. “It will be on later in the year, but we’re not sure which station yet.
“We’ll be at home for the summer mostly – we’re doing bits and pieces at home in sunny Donegal. I’m on holidays now until August 2016. Our shows start in Killarney next year.”
The couple, who have been married since 2002, are also set to welcome their first grandchild.
Majella’s daughter Siobhan (27) is expecting her first child with her fiance, Gavin Shields, this summer.
The couple got engaged at Christmas and Majella (54) said the family are “absolutely delighted” with the news.
“We’re so looking forward to being grandparents,” she said. “I’ve a room done up for when they visit. We’re so excited, we can’t wait.”
Singer Daniel O’Donnell has spoken of his heartache after his first Christmas without his mother, and his joy after step-daughter Siobhan accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend.
