Jerry Springer sang Elvis live on The Ray D'Arcy Show...and it was something
It's not every day you see Jerry Springer on RTE.
We're more accustomed to seeing the chat show host MCing the louder than life characters on his long-running sensational tv programme, but he made his way to Dublin for St Patrick's Day and a surprise appearance on Saturday night's Ray D'Arcy Show.
Like most high profile Americans, he has been using his fame to share his political views in the era of Trump, gaining a few new fans and foes in the process.
On last night's show, his much lauded appearance promised to offer refreshing political insight about the US president's relationship with the American people and anti-multicultural stance, but it was his next trick that proved to be most entertaining.
That's right, it was when he performed his own rendition of Elvis Presley's I Can't Help Falling In Love With You in front of a live audience, most of whom were decked out in sequin green hats and/or tricolour boas.
Because nothing says Ireland like Jerry, Elvis and Ray.
The whole thing was rather strange, but somewhat in keeping with The Ray D'Arcy Show's apparent struggle to nail down its identity after two years on air.
